Bulgomme is a product of the Vénilia company. It is a padded, waterproof and anti-slip carpet. It is often used under a tablecloth to protect a dining room table, for example, but its properties also make it an ideal product for violinists and luthiers: by placing a small Bulgomme mat on your working bench or on any place where you are used to laying your instrument, you will avoid scratches or accidental shocks. Thanks to its shock-absorbing and anti-slip properties, this mat will also protect and stabilize your instruments when you change the strings, straighten the bridge or for any other maintenance operation.
Unfortunately, the Bulgomme is usually only available for sale in large sizes. The product that I propose is therefore a small mat cut to the ideal dimensions for placing a violin: 67.5 cm by 36 cm. These dimensions are compatible with all sizes of violins, from 1/8th to viola.

Be careful, there are many imitations of Bulgomme that are cheaper but also less effective, less padded, less adherent or less rugged. I have no acquaintance with the Vénilia company but, having tested different products from different brands, I advise you to opt for the original Bulgomme, it does not seem to have been equaled to date.
